Lower Porthamel is part of a working farm where LIVESTOCK and feed are grown on the arable pastures.

the campsite is located on the farm’s organic orchard, so you will sleep between the very apple trees that make the cider in the onsite tap room.

Sobremesa drinks has been making farmhouse beers and natural ciders at lower porthamel since march 2023. we serve all our produce as fresh as it comes at the tap room, alongside local cheeses and charcuterie and our favourite spanish snacks.

We have a range of accommodations for all holiday makers, so book your stay in nature!

Dark Skies!

We are very lucky to be in a Dark Skies Area of the UK, meaning that on clear nights we are blessed with an amazing Starry display. Come and camp under the night sky!


 

Just 1 mile to Talgarth, a small peaceful market town where you can find the working Mill with a fantastic café, WJ George Butchers & Deli pot, the bridge inn, Pell-y-Wrach nature reserve and Dinas castle.

Hay On Wye, renowned for its books and book shops is just 6 miles to the east from us. With the annual Guardian Hay Festival of Literature and Art and How The Light Gets In Festival, happening during the end of May beginning June.

Brecon just 6 miles to the west is a market town with Cathedral, Canal and hosting the annual Jazz festival in August.

A haven for  Fishing, Hikers, Walkers, Kayaking, Canoeing, Paddle boarding, Gorge walking, Cyclists, Water Sport enthusiasts, Horse Riders and Climbers.
